Our Women’s Weekend Retreat offers beginner/intermediate mountain bikers an exciting opportunity to refine their biking skills and enjoy some incredible Vermont riding in a supportive community environment.  Yoga classes, while designed with the cyclist in mind, will challenge and rejuvenate practitioners of all levels.

Accommodations: Retreat participants will stay in a beautiful slope side house at Burke Mountain.  The cathedral-ceilinged chalet provides guests with easy access to the Kingdom Trail networks, particularly those on Burke Mountain.  The house stands sheltered among branches of evergreens and the many windows at the front of the house look out onto a clear mountain brook.  Guests will have ample time to explore the nearby trails, practice yoga, and to soak up the sun on the wrap-around deck. Our in-house chef will prepare meals using local wholesome farm-fresh products.  This is a shared space with four bedrooms and a loft.  One bedroom is private and the other three have multiple beds in each.  Please expect a cozy community environment for our retreat together. See more pictures...

Retreat Description:  Each day we begin with a gentle yet invigorating morning yoga session, inviting you to center and ground yourself before the outdoor adventure ahead.  Practice focuses on opening and strengthening your upper body while awakening your legs.  After a satisfying and delicious breakfast, our biking clinic provides a supportive and enticing environment to try new things or expand existing skill sets, regardless of your level. Clinics also include proper bike set-up, braking, shifting, body positioning techniques, and stunts.womensretreat1

Then you get to apply what you’ve learned on the trail as you explore the stunning local scenery and the thrilling flow of the Kingdom Trails.  Each day we ride different loops within the KTA’s network, investigating a variety of terrain and challenges.  The KTA network consists of over 100 miles of singletrack and we’ll take you on the best routes.  When the ride is over, take a dip at the nearby swimming hole to cool off or return to the chalet for some rest and relaxation.  Or keep riding if more is what you need – the choice is yours.

In the late afternoon, we encourage you to attend our restorative yoga class which literally restores your tired body and reduces soreness the next day.  We have discovered how important this practice is to energize your entire retreat.  Then guests will have more time to themselves, before enjoying a hearty local dinner.
