The Heart of Vermont Retreat takes advantage of another fantastic network of trails - the Millstone Trails. Although these trails are not as well-known as the Kingdom Trails, they are beginning to make a name for themselves. If you are looking for a unique blend of beautiful views, challenging trails built upon natural granite obstacles, and an escape from the crowds then this is your retreat!

Accommodations: Barre, Vermont, known as the granite capital of the world, houses the famous Rock of Ages quarry. Many illustrious stone monuments around the world originated from Barre. The Millstone trail network itself weaves along the remnants of this heritage, providing views of crystal clear waters and spectacular scenery. When in Barre, retreat guests stay at the Millstone Lodge where they can ride directly to any number of trails within minutes. The Lodge is a historic barn that owner Pierre Couture refurbished to provide a quirky and fun Vermont experience. Private rooms at the Lodge are impeccably furnished with spectacular views. Retreat Description: This retreat allows you to line up sweet mountain bike rides and an invigorating and relaxing yoga practice. A gentle yoga practice is available to all guests in the morning before breakfast. After breakfast, riders may opt for a clinic and/or hit the trails for a sizable singletrack ride. In the afternoon, we will regroup for a restorative yoga session. There will be plenty of time for relaxation during the afternoon and evening hours. Local freshly prepared dinner is served at 7:30.
YOGA (All levels): A daily morning yoga practice occurs on site at the Lodge, prior to breakfast. Each day, you can take advantage of the yoga in a small class environment inviting you to center and ground yourself before the outdoor adventure ahead. In the afternoon, we encourage you to attend our restorative yoga class which literally restores your tired body and reduces soreness the next day. We have discovered how important this practice is to energize your entire retreat.
MOUNTAIN BIKING (Bike Levels 2-6): Riders have a chance to sample some of the best mountain biking in Vermont with 80+ miles of trails right out the front door! Millstone Hill boasts trails suitable for all levels and rarely closes, practically guaranteeing riding regardless of weather. The prime mountain biking location, as well as the true blue Vermonter feel of Barre, lends the Heart of Vermont retreat its name. Mountain biking options include scenic double-track leading to dramatic views, cross-country epics with lots of natural granite obstacles, and more freeride-like options such as Roller Coaster, Screaming Demon, and Harrington Heights which are loaded with man-made drops, berms, a teeter-totter, and natural granite skinnies.
